Shropshire FA partners with SLiS to support local clubs
Improving sustainability in football is now a key part of the FA’s charter. Climate action for Shropshire grassroots football is underway with the help of Sustainable Leaders in Sport.
Shropshire FA is helping member teams to become advocates for stronger, more sustainable and more modernised grassroots infrastructure across Shropshire.
The organisation is working with Sustainable Leaders in Sport (SLiS) to provide local clubs with accessible support and resources to get started on this journey.
SLiS is an online, user-friendly sustainability support initiative tailored to grassroots sports.
Clubs can use the tool to set some simple goals for the next 12 months, access templates and resources, and benefit from optional 1-2-1’s for additional support with matters such as calculating your carbon footprint.
SLiS covers a variety of areas, but transport, purchasing, waste management, and resource consumption are likely to be the areas with the most easy wins.
Andy Weston, Acting CEO stated “We are delighted to be partnering with SLIS to offer our members this unique opportunity to benefit from expert advice on sustainability. As energy prices are soaring, it is important that we can provide money saving ideas, whilst also doing our bit to help the planet and protect the future generations“
Costs start at just £15 for the DIY downloadable resource pack, and £60 per year for the Sustainability Pathway tool.
Let’s get started and set an example for generations to come.
